Youngest fleet in Africa

Kenya Airways also invested in two new modern, state of the art lounges at its dedicated Terminal 1A located at its hub Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi.

The Simba Lounge and Pride Lounge are for the exclusive use of Premier World passengers flying from or transiting through Kenya Airways’ JKIA hub. The lounges are also used by Sky Priority passengers from the airline’s SkyTeam partners who rated them amongst the top in the world. The lounge was voted the Second Best SkyTeam lounge in the world and SkyTeam was voted the Best Airline Partnership in the World.

As a member of SkyTeam we offer SkyTeam lounges for business class passengers in London-Heathrow, Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle  and Amsterdam - Schiphol Airports.

Improved hub connectivity

Kenya Airways recently moved its operations to the newly built Terminal 1A arrivals and departures. The new ultra-modern terminal is dedicated to Kenya Airways and its SkyTeam partners. The spacious terminal boasts over 30 dedicated check-in counters, fast baggage carousels as well as chic new lounges for the Premier World guests.

This hub redesign has seen Kenya Airways operate improved schedules that ensure efficient use of its aircraft, crew and flight connections for guests. This has contributed to an increase in flight frequencies to some cities on its network especially in Africa and a more convenient flight schedule. This has also improved connectivity through the Nairobi hub by 20% for transit passengers.

Nurturing talent

Kenya Airways has a well-established history of supporting growth of various sporting activities on the continent. The sports sponsorship has especially been vital in the airline’s vision to sustainably develop Africa.

Every year, the airline devotes millions of shillings in supporting different sports disciplines. The airline’s sports sponsorship portfolio, borne out of an acknowledgement of the need to harness the rich sporting talent in the country, boasts of Athletics, Golf and Motorsports.

The airline works closely with Tourism Boards across its network to promote tourism in various markets and as a result have partnered with The Kenya Tourism Board. In addition Kenya Airways has also partnered with the Born Free Foundation to protect wildlife through the Change Brings Change program onboard. KQ Cargo

KQ Cargo is the freight division of Kenya Airways mandated to transport various cargo across the Kenya Airways network and beyond using both passenger aircraft and two freighters. The dedicated freighter aircraft are deployed on regional African routes, feeding and de-feeding cargo from our hub in Nairobi. KQ Cargo proudly won African Cargo Airline of the Year Award in 2015.

KQ Pride Centre

Our state of the art modern training centre known as The Pride Centre offers world class training in hospitality, whether in the air or on the ground.

With unique modern facilities that incorporate true “experiential” learning, Pride Centre offers a wide range of courses that prepares every candidate for a career that really takes off.

Pride Centre also boasts a modern state of the art 737-800 simulator which pilots from all over the continent can use for their simulator training.

KQ Technical Centre was appointed an Embraer Authorised Service Centre in 2015.
