What are the challenges?

Overview

There are some challenges in doing business in Kenya. These include:

  • strong competition from the east, especially on price

  • security threats

  • infrastructure limitations

  • can be a high cost of doing business (such as taxes, access to finance)

  • bureaucracy

  • counterfeiting

  • high levels of corruption (145th out of 176 on the corruption index)

  • ranks 92nd out of 190 for ease of doing business index
